3 Words New Patients Must See!

What  are the 3 words new prospective patients MUST see on your website BEFORE they will call you?

As a business manager, you are always wondering what words will spur the prospect to take action?

Regardless of your business, there are triggers which motivate the prospect to take that next step.

In the medical community, this is very true.  In fact, the medical community forced prospective patients to look for 3 SPECIAL words before they contact you.  Special in the sense that these are words only used in the medical community.

Hopefully, you are way ahead of me.  If you are not, bare with me a few more sentences.

When I walk down Main Street and come up to a business which I want to check out, what is the first thing I do?

I look to see if they are OPEN.  Smart businesspeople for years have put “OPEN” signs up and display them CLEARLY.

So, you’re asking “what’s this have to do with Doctor’s offices?”  Our hours are displayed clearly in my window and on my website (although many of you don’t clearly display them).

Well, Doctors have a language all of their own which signifies to the prospective patient that you are open for business.

ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS……… sound familiar?

Because many in the Medical community have put up the wall of NO NEW PATIENTS from time to time.  Patients, especially older patients,  will ask “are you accepting new patients?”

Perhaps, this makes you, the doctor, feel special, “are you accepting new patients?”  It’s called exclusivity, and usually, it allows you to charge higher prices.  But, today, it could just be a ROADBLOCK!

Personally, I always ask the question when I start with a new doctor.  Right on the phone with the receptionist, ” Is Dr. Smith accepting new patients?”   My next question is, “do you accept my insurance?”

So, along with your PHONE NUMBER and HOURS prominently displayed in BOLD on your home page (would it not make sense to also place in BOLD LETTERS?), Accepting NEW Patients ?

Optimizing Google Places

Let’s just say I am a consumer who’s using Google search, and I’m looking for insurance in Jacksonville, Florida.  So, I type in the words “insurance Jacksonville Florida” into the Google search box and what Google brings up for me?  Right at the top of the page, is what they call their ‘Local Listing Results’.  These are companies that meet the criteria of the search term within a specific geographical area.

Let’s look at a listing which is not really well optimized.  Here is what I find on a listing that

Is not well optimized:

  • Their local listing which shows the name of the business, the address, the city, the state, the phone number.
  • There is a link on the map where you can get directions from wherever you are to wherever you want to  go.
  • Tabs for specific areas where searchers can find other information.
  • You have a listing of all the web pages that lists the business.
  • A picture of the outside of the business.

That’s it for this listing.  That’s pretty good because it gives a little bit of information about the business, but it’s really not all that Google would give to somebody who is looking for some service.

Now let’s see what a well optimized listing contains:

We will click on the first Google Places listing and…………….

Now notice how much more information is on this listing in comparison to the other listing. We got the same thing on top here; we got the name of the business, the address, the city, the state, the phone number. But we also got a link to their website.

Google doesn’t  know if you have a website or not, so they can’t put your website up there unless you tell them, and in particular, where to put it.

There is a lot more on here than what there was for the previous listing. Look at this:

  • Reviews that people have written.  reviews from companies, pages like ‘Insider Pages’ or ‘City Search’.
  • There is all kinds of information about payments, what type of payments Tillmans takes, Visa, American, Master Card and all the credit cards, cash.
  • The guarantee. They’ve been in business since 1981.
  • Description of the business.  They tell a little bit about the business, what they are, what they do, what type of things do they specialize in.
  • The email. You want to send them an email, just click on that and it takes you right to the email.
  • It has photos of products and services and people. You can add so many things. You can add up to 10 photographs per listing.
  • And it also has all the hours of operation. So there is no more guessing about when they are open or when they are closed. Everything is there for people to find.
  • And then is also all the webpages that Google’s found

That is a much better, much more concise, and much more comprehensive listing which gives everybody the type of information they need to find and to choose your business.  Google is great for doing it right.

I’m going to share with you the Paradigm shift that took a business from twenty thousand dollars of monthly sales to fifty thousand dollars in monthly sales predictably for local businesses around the country, one just like yours.

Let’s get started!

There are two types of marketing which have been affected by this shift, and one of these two can save money, time and convert prospects into customers.

First, we’ll talk about Direct Marketing;  a type of marketing most of your competitors are using, and most likely, so are you.  Also, we’re also going to talk about Local Internet Marketing;  marketing strategies which bring customers directly to you, ready to buy.

The Paradigm Shift we are seeing today is the big switch from Direct Marketing to Local Internet Marketing.

Local Internet Marketing gets a direct, measurable response from the prospect/customer.  The response is driven by the prospect/customer, rather than you – the local business.

In other words, it requires no cold calling because it sells in advance.  This differs sharply from Direct Marketing where the local business contacts the potential customer.

With Local Internet Marketing, you become a welcomed guest.  With this Paradigm Shift, you are being invited to contact people who are interested in what you have to offer for sale.  The ultimate warm call.

One of the most powerful benefits is that Local Internet Marketing is accountable.  Accountable because results can be tracked and measured, thereby, providing you the opportunity to duplicate its success over and over again.

Local Internet Marketing is also replacing YELLOW PAGE marketing.  Read all about it in my next post.
